First time visitor. Loved the food and casual atmosphere. Nice to know they make up gluten free crab cakes as two members of our party eat only gluten free food. Crab cakes were good, nice size, a little smaller than the crab cakes I had had at G&M the night before. Crab cakes were meaty, very limited amount of filler, just enough to keep the cake together. Crab soup was nice, enough spice to make it tasty, but not so overpowering that it altered the consistency of the crabmeat and veggies. Food came out as expected, but they substituted Mac and Cheese for my Mashed Potatoes. It was ok because the Mac and Cheese was really good and tasty. We didn't eat dessert. No one was hungry after such a big meal with tasty appetizers. Give this place a shot. They have two other Baltimore locations.

Best Crabcake I've ever had and I've lived in Maryland all my life! The waitress was attentive and nice. She was versed in the menu and able to give her opinion on the menu items because she had tried each of the menu items. My companion did not like one of her side and the waitress was very apologetic and was able to bring out another sad that my companion enjoyed. I will go back again. I got the biggest crabcake that they had and was not able to finish it all. The next day I whipped it up inside of an omelette and it was just as tasty as it was the day before! I've let everybody know that I can by word-of-mouth and now in this review

Disappointing... Food was undercooked and Zach was smart ass waiter. Definitely not dining here again.

Just left Pappa's Glen Burnie MD after sitting for about. 4-5 minutes, Place is mostly empty, No acknowledgement by the waitress, very poor service to some patrons,

Everything was going okay-ish until we had to speak to the manager. The reason we voiced a complaint was because the food ordered was not at all like what the menu described, plus a few execution errors (Seriously... how do you NOT remove the vein from ALL the shrimp?). The manager came to the table with a terrible attitude and was rude right off the bat. Uh... excuse me? Up until this point, we were willing to return to this place. The evil manager tried to argue with us, instead of... gee... I don't know... listen to the concerns and then issue an apology. Her whole thing was "Well this is just how it is done at all the locations," with the crummy attitude. While we were willing to pay for the meal anyways, she offered to comp the entree (not the sides... whatever, doesn't matter). But she began to try and prove us wrong. Our poor server was great (despite never giving us his name to properly praise him), and we paid (and tipped him... not his fault he has a crappy manager), and went to leave. This is where it got even worse. Instead of just leaving it all alone and letting it go... she stopped my husband to try and prove that SHE was right. Really? Going down to low blows like that? TERRIBLE customer service. How does ANY manager feel that this was an intelligent thing to do to an already frustrated customer? Needless to say, never returning to this restaurant again. I highly advise to NOT go there. It's not worth it; Maybe the other locations have better managers, but based on this... I am afraid to even try.

Angels sang to me as this bad boy of crab cakes was delivered to our table. (Served w/an unnecessary excess of French fries and a welcomed chunky fresh slice of pickle.) A-MAZ-ING ! ... and I took my good ole sweet time devouring every captivating lumpy bite just to give my tummy a worthwhile chance of catching up w/my eyes and brain digesting such an appealing and savory visual. Yes. I really took my time, and my stomach appreciated such a thoughtful task. The lumpiest of lumpy lump lump crab cakes EVER. Look Ma; Hardly any filler... Melissa's service was excellent considering she served the entire area by herself. I would've liked the small four-top table cleared of plates sooner. However, I blame Management for poor shift scheduling. Management should've scheduled a bus person dedicated entirely to table clearing considering the place was packed. Myself and guests were the first ones brunching. Allegedly, Sundays bring in regular crowds, groups, fans of sports, etc at varying times. Thus the place was packed, and Melissa was a very busy girl. Need I add, the Yuengling accompanying my delicious dish was paired perfectly... so my tummy was happy.

Recently there was a discussion at work about who had the best crab cakes in the area. Several people mentioned Pappas so I had to give it a try. It's basically a typical sports bar/restaurant, nothing fancy. The crab cakes come in two sizes, one that is 7-8 ounces and the "colossal" that is 10 ounces. Went with the colossal. It was huge, with very large chunks of crab meat and very little filler. I literally was so full when I was done that I didn't eat anything the rest of the day. It's easy to see why this place has won Baltimore's best crab cake several times.

Never had this Baltimore style crab dinner before. Once you get the shell cracking (Work that little hammer!) technique down the crab is flaky, light and delicious. The trick with these crabs seems to be the seasoning. Reminds me of Old Bay or something similar. The once thing about shellfish, including these here blue crabs is, it takes effort. These little buddies are gonna make you work for your meal. And it can get messy so be prepared. I had the steamed crabs because that's what was recommended I try first. I really wanted to try the crabcakes and will save that thought for next time. I can't remember much about the building because it was pouring rain and we got in quickly and focused on getting dry. The wait staff was excellent and helped out with the menu selections. The food was good and priced just about right for seafood around this location. This place is strictly crabs, crabcakes, crab balls, shrimp, oysters and soup. They also have gluten free which is good for people looking for that option. Get your bib and get ta crack'n!

Excellent food with great prices and attentive staff!! Definitely a great place to stop in between games. I would highly recommend it for as family or friend environment. On one side, you can relax in the quiet with a delicious crab cake and your kids. The other side has an awesome bar with plenty of games to watch!

Three and a half stars. Perfect restaurant to take a break while you are shopping for cars, which is a distinct possibly because this area is densely populated with dealerships. I would have given Pappas 3 stars, but the service was so great that I added a star. Our server was Zack, and he was really on top of things, friendly and accommodating. Nice job. I had the crab cake platter. The crab cake itself was one of the better I've had. Not quite as good as Box Hill in Abingdon (the best) but good. The coleslaw was also tasty, and I am a picky consumer of coleslaw. Not too creamy, medium cut cabbage. Not much caraway seed, which is good because I hate them. The mashed potatoes were bland, and gravy was nothing special. We had an appetizer of the spinach pie, and it was also very enjoyable. Crispy and hot, nothing gourmet, but they serve it with a fair amount of feta and tomatoes as an extra. Another great extra was the bread. They serve it with some sort of delicious honey butter that I would come back just to get more of. So good we were joking about putting it on the crab cakes- which would probably actually be amazing.

Great happy hour prices and selection. Happy hour starters does not include seafood dishes. I got the famous crab cake platter which comes with two sides. I have to say it's one of the best $15 crab cakes I've had! It's a definitely must when coming here. Their crab cakes are truly famous and in many Baltimore magainzes. Their draft beer selection is small but what they do have is great. The local beer Loose Cannon 7.25% and Turbo Dog was great. Service was okay. The staff try to manage timely service with what they have. The restaraunt overall was like a scaled down version of an Apple Bees or Chilis. Overall, a decent place to enjoy happy hour.

Hmmmm...struggling with how to rate this one... On the plus side: attentive server, very good (bordering on excellent) crab cakes, a nicely prepared baked potato, and big chunks of bleu cheese in the dressing Negatives: an uneducated server (didn't know what they had for premium vodka), a lackluster salad, and rather dated decor. Overall all little too much $ for the return.

The best and meatiest Crabcakes! No filler just crab! And the veggies are good too...always enjoy everything I order from here

What a pleasant surprise--a fantastic crabcake indeed. Fresh lump crabmeat with minimal filler make this clearly one on the very best list is the Baltimore/Annapolis area. The rice pudding was also one of the best I have ever sampled. It's a shame that such good food gets presented in a rather ordinary sports bar/restaurant, with loud music and televisions distracting from what should be the real focus--the stellar crabcake.

I checked out Pappas crab cakes because of Oprah Winfrey's recommendation on social media. The crab cake is sizable (7oz) and meaty. It was basically all crabmeat which was excellent. It was very good, however the fries were not but I'm picky when it comes to fries. I will definitely go back when I have a craving for crab cakes. It's my understanding that Oprah frequents the Baltimore location when she is in the DMV. Pappas offers shipping which I think is a great service for those who live out of the area. You can also order raw crab cake to prepare at home. I think I may try that next time.

Decent beer selection (a few craft beers on tap, local or otherwise) and a good menu. Definitely on the carby, fried pub grub side. I tried the crab cake platter with a 7 oz broiled cake. That was a DAMN good crab cake filled with tender crab.

I went here every Wednesday this past summer due to my boyfriend's softball team always hitting up the happy hour before their game. The food here is typical bar food, nothing special. I wouldn't recommend coming here for dinner when there are better restaurants behind this establishment! However, the bartenders are super accommodating and helpful. They attended to the boys without hesitation even when they turn into annoying drunks.

Yum yum yum! They have a really great crabcake and the best crab pretzel ever! It's the perfect combination. I was disappointed in the cream of crab soup though! Too watery and WAY too much sherry in it. Yuck!!!!

With Restaurant Week in effect, wanted to try a new place ... so, here we went. Very easy location, friendly staff, and good food - what more is there to ask for. We each selected the Crab Cakes. They are comparable in size and flavor to the infamous G&M Restaurant a few miles away, but had a bit more filler (also more flavor too). If you want a fluffy crab cake, with good flavor, try this place out. If you prefer the chunky crab cake with more of a 'fish' smell go to G&M. Also, Thursday is 1/2 off all wine bottles!

I went to Pappa's for the first time for happy hour on a Friday night and the overall atmosphere was pretty good. My party sat at the bar where they had food and drink specials from 4-7pm. I ordered drinks and apps from the happy hour menu, which was very reasonably priced. The down fall for me was the table we were sitting at. It was a little cold as we were near that front door so it became drafty at times and the service was pretty slow. Attentive but pretty slow. I would re-visit Pappa's again.

I have eaten crab cakes all over the country, and of course being raised in MD consider myself an expert with all the crab cakes I've eaten growing up. Pappas has the largest crab cakes around!!! Lots of meat, and seasoned just right. They are the size of a softball, really! And the price is soooo reasonable. I've had gourmet crab cakes that were $30 a pop that couldn't compare to these. Their cream of crab soup is great also. I haven't had much else on the menu so can't comment on that, I get the crab cakes and soup all the time. At lunchtime they have great specials. The service has always been excellent too. For the price, it is a great local place.

Had dinner on Saturday night, which we go there often. The food was good. The service was ok. Then you get charged with a Split Plate Dinner of $3.50. Really. I have never paid this fee any where else. Not happy and we will not return .

The best restaurant. I love this place. They have the best crab cakes out of anywhere. I always order the double so I have one to take home. The black bottom cheesecake is also very delicious. The owner even came by our table and made sure we didn't need anything. The service was great and the wait wasn't too long.

Papas is a local sports bar concept integrated into a previously failed American Irish restaurant. The interior still resembles the previous restaurant concept, which feels a little off based on the new name / concept. On tap is mainly Budweiser and family products with a handful of micro draughts too. Food is ok at best and is a little too bland and basic, but it sort of expected. Customer service was solid from the door to the bar staff, I thought the experience was that much better from it. Overall the experience is fair and on par with a local family eatery / bar concept - 3 stars.

We found this spot while shopping last weekend and much to our surprise it was quite nice. We ordered the crab cakes and they were excellent. The overall feel of the restaurant seemed a little dated, but the crab cakes were baked perfectly and with very little filler.

I give this *** only because of service. The food is great every time we go there but the service absolutely sucked! Our server was nice, but kept talking to the table behind us about smoking and drinking. Loud enough everyone could hear. Instead of checking on customers he stayed posted up at the table behind us talking to his friends. A table asked for their check and he didn't even get it just walked back to talk to his friends. When I went to talk to the manager she was stuffing her face with other servers at the first table when you walk into the restaurant. Unprofessional and inappropriate for a dining establishment.

Crab cake perfection to its utmost. No filler will be found in these large tasty crab cakes. I dare you to find it. Plus, NO shell pieces, just every bite a small taste of seafood heaven. Great job! This is a great place for lunch. Service is good, no complaints. I see why the restaurant claims to have the best crab cakes in town. Prices are reasonable.

I never realized that I would find the best crab cakes because I'm skeptical so I don't order them every time I see them in the menu. Since I moved to MD 4 years ago, I thought I could never tell the difference of best crab cakes until I found them in Pappas. I heard the compliment from Oprah which drove me to Pappas to try these delicious, awesome crab cakes in mini or large size. The cream of crab is another hit because its filled with crabs - no fillers of potatoes (that's fine with me!) It was Friday when I went there and the bar was full. A discovery is that every Wednesday is Crab Cake Day at $17. With what I know about how they make crab cakes - this is a fantastic opportunity to have the best crab cake in town at a price cut. And for that matter, I thank Oprah for her recommendation.

We found this restaurant in the Baltimore County Rest Week list. It is the closest to us and we decided to give it a try. We made reservations but they were not needed. We ordered wings, half Chesapeake/BBQ. The Chesapeake were our favorite. Light, crispy, nice seasoning. BBQ were a bit tough and we did not care for the sauce much. My crab cake sandwich was good, fries were crispy and fresh. My cake was crabby, crabby and very tasty. I would definitely order again. My husband's crab cake and steak was good, as well. He enjoyed both and said that the steak was cooked to his liking. Service was excellent by Brandy. She was friendly, helpful with suggestions and attentive. Of course, no room for dessert.

Stopped in for lunch after doing some shopping nearby. There were four of us and we sat in the bar to watch football. It was around 1:00p and it wasn't crowded at all, although it was picking up when we were leaving. I ordered the bacon bleu cheese burger and it was tasty, but over cooked. I asked for medium and it was definitely well done. The others in my party got the cheese steak, crab cake sandwich, and turkey club. The crab cake was HUGE and made with lump crab meat. The club was also enormous and was made with thick slices of turkey, not the stuff you get from the deli. Overall, it was nice and we all enjoyed our meals. It was chilly temperature wise in the bar area and the decor is kind of drab and outdated, but I think they just kept it the same from the previous restaurant that was there. I'm not up that way often, but I'd stop back in if I was.

Horrible customer service!! I came in around 7:25 PM on Friday. I knew they would be busy because it is Friday evening. I went to the bar to order takeout. And I was never acknowledged that they would be with me in a second. I waited for 5 to 10 minutes and no one acknowledge me at all. Finally I walked away from the bar and ask to see the manager. I told him how disappointed I was with the customer service at his restaurant. I love the food, but the staff is horrible. I was especially disappointed with the customer service of African-American man with the mohawk at the bar. He never even looked at me. How rude!

I would say 3.5 star. Have been to this location several times in the past few months. The food has ranged from just ok to outstanding (shrimp salad sandwich). There is a great beer selection for those who enjoy that sorta thing (me). The service is always great! One strange side note....They could not take my debit card because the expiration date was too far away? I had to use the atm, which I would have rather avoided.

I really enjoy Pappas. They have a diverse menu and very good food. The age old question of the crab cake - I give it 5 stars - one of the best in the area, my wife thinks it's just average. It's a very good place for kids and has consistently solid service. Definitely in the rotation as a family favorite.

Good place to have a casual meal. Good food, friendly service and very very clean. And with a big projection TV, its a great place to cheer on the Orioles and Ravens (or cheering on whatever team is playing the Yankees, Colts, Redskins or Steelers!!!) Easy access to the Beltway, Rt 10 or the old Harbor Tunnel.

Crab cakes = 5 stars Everything else = 2 stars I was not expecting much when I walked into this place. It's a poorly lit restaurant with old decor. The bathrooms smell funky and can use some air fresheners. But this is about the crab cakes! And they do have the best crab cakes ever!! I ordered the crab cake special with 2 sides and a soup. The rice pilaf was plentiful and sweet potato fries were decent. The soup was so salty I couldn't finish it. But it was a good deal for a great serving of chunk crab meat!! I definitely will come back again.

Where do I begin with this place...? So my boyfriend, who had already been going there as a regular a few times a week, introduced me to this place in December of 2012. In the beginning, we were always greeted with smiles from every one and had drinks brought to our table almost immediately. This continued for months and were became well known at Pappas and basically considered regulars because we came about 4 days a week(if not more!). In my opinion, when a person becomes a regular, there comes a point where bar servers should know what they order: every. single. time. I'm a French fry girl and I hate ketchup so I ALWAYS order BBQ sauce with my fries. There has NEVER been a point in time where I didn't ask for BBQ sauce to be brought out with my fries. I swear, after almost a year of going here and ALWAYS getting BBQ with fries, they managed to screw that up basically every single time. They would bring out our meal and I'd ask, "can I get my side of BBQ sauce?" - and then they'd claim to have added that to the ticket, but when we got the bill to pay, BBQ sauce was NEVER on the receipt. Seriously, after a year of coming here - just bring out a side of BBQ sauce with EVERY thing I order - geeeez! And let me say I've been a waitress and when you add on stuff to a ticket, it will come up when the ticket is printed. When you tell me you added it and it doesn't say so on the ticket, please, you forget - just admit it! I can also say that their mixed drinks are watered down and come with a lot of ice. Unless you get something on the rocks, you are getting a watered down juice drink and ice cubes. But let's get down to some serious business. Things really took a turn about a month ago when my boyfriend and I showed up on a Sunday night after a Raven's football game. We aren't NFL fans so we make sure not to go to a bar when games are on because we know service will be slow and the place will be packed. We show up at 9pm after a 4pm Ravens game so the place was dead and we assumed we would get served right away. We walked into the bar and every table was dirty except for the back table by the lottery machine. The bartender Melissa said we could sit there or to wait and she would clean a table right away. We wanted to wait because there was a couple at the bar table next to the lottery machine and we wanted some space so we sat and waited. Melissa continued to make drinks for the few people who were left at the bar and said she would be right over. She then left the bar and went into the back and we didn't see her for about 10min. No other waiter or waitress came out to the bar, there was no hostess, so we just sat there wondering where the hell everyone went. I assume Melissa went out to smoke, because all the bartenders smoke and take 10-15 min breaks whenever they want. After about 15min, we got up and left. Seriously - we've been regulars for a YEAR and you don't come over and at least take a drink order?? We headed down to the road to another bar, got a few drinks and apps RIGHT AWAY. My boyfriend and I were there 4 days a week at least - and ALWAYS tipped 20%+ on our bill. How many times did we every get a few drink - ummm, yeh, like never. The times they would give us a free drink it would be on a $2 Natty Boh - geeeeeee thanks!!! For a $2 beer, please, just keep it! After all the drama we've seen from bartenders bickering and the many fights that have happened at this bar, we are officially DONE! We are moving on to another local spot where we hope to be treated like regulars and enjoy a much nicer environment. I would not recommend anyone going to this bar unless you want to sit there and be ignored and have your order come out wrong. (Maybe the restaurant side is different - but this is our opinion from the bar side).

Love their crab cake special. You get soup, crab cake, 2 sides, and drink all for one price. Everything that I have ever gotten there has been delicious. I highly recommend their food. The only reason that I did not give them 5 stars is because I don't care for hard steamed veggies. I always order them forgetting that they are not soft enough for my taste.

Poor food and service. Ribs were dried out, and sides were cold. My daughters meal had a bug moving around within the plate. We addressed this and shown it to the waitress. Waitress took the plate and came back saying manager would remove it from bill. But the manager would not come to speak to us and I quess they assumed my daughter wasn't going to eat since they never offered to remake or replace the meal. I even sent emails to there office and never received any kind of response. Avoid this place, not as good as it once was, and they certainly don't seem to care.

I stopped here on a Sunday evening as part of a large group of people (20 or so) for our corporate gathering. We had two servers, both of whom were quick and on the ball. The crab pretzel was excellent, of the ones I tried in restaurants this week it was by far the best. I had a strip steak with the crab imperial on it and cooked medium. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The crab imperial appeared to just be a crab cake on top, but it was still very good.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals here. She had the double crab cake platter and I had the crab cake over jumbo shrimp. We have both agreed this was the best crab cake we've ever had. It was even better than G&Ms! Both are very good both the sides at Pappa's were better too. Highly recommended!

Posting the lowest review of a restaurant is one of my least favorite things, but I just wasn't impressed. Here's the skinny: The wife and I were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The waitress (is that PC these days?) brought our drinks right away. Unfortunately, the only thing on the menu that appealed to us at the time was a crab cake and shrimp salad sandwich, so that's the route we took. The wait for the food was a little longer than average, but not terrible. When we received our food, I asked for a side of dressing for the fries, she brought it, and that was the last we saw of the server until just prior to the check. It wasn't busy, so I have no idea where she was. I ran out of tea about halfway through the meal. The food itself was disappointing. The crab cake was pretty good, and the shrimp salad was decent, but what killed it was that they used the Big Mac method when putting it together: 3 slices of bread, but not enough inside to fill it out. Those three thick slices of bread really took a lot away from the sandwich; my last three bites wound up being just bread. They haven't blown it, though. I'd give them a second chance. However, I'll have to be in the area and pretty hungry to do it.

The absolute BEST sweet tea I have had in a restaurant! I'm new to the area and wanted to take my visiting mother for crab cakes, but I can't eat seafood. I had passes Pappas multiple times and after looking at the menu decided to try it. My mom had the crab cake/shrimp salad sandwich. She said it was delicious. I had the flat iron steak with baked potato and french fries (I know naughty). My steak was melt in your mouth good. Ordered it medium well and actually GOT a medium well steak...this does not happen often, and hardly ever outside of a steakhouse. The baked potato was perfection and though I only had a few french fires to see if they were to my liking, they seemed to also be just the way I like them. Crunchy, but not too crispy. Nothing was greasy. The hostes didn't really seem to know what was going on, but since she looked to be about 12, I'll cut her some slack. Also, yoga pants, not appropriate for work. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but not so attentive that I was annoyed. She was personable, and was more than willing to adhere to all of my little quirks. Great place to go if people in your party want different types of food, the menu had a lot of favorites to choose from. Salad, pasta, seafood, steak, burgers, etc.

I've been here several times.Everytime that I have been here the service has been good but very poor food quality.Ive notices that there sodas are flat and there Iced Tea has a bitter after taste.Crab cakes are good but that's about it.Salads are not good at all. They are watered down and not enough in the salad to call it a salad.Uf your looking for a better sports bar and food quality go down about another 5mi and enjoy the comforts of Glory Days.

I've eaten here three times now and I've had a pleasant experience each time. I highly recommend their crab cakes and their hot turkey platters. I originally thought the price for the crab cakes was a bit high but it is a huge crab cake with no filler. The hot turkey platter is made with homemade turkey and not simply out of lunch meat.

On 3/4/14 my husband and I visited for dinner we sat got our food. Our waitress came 3 times to our table. A party of 5 came must have been regulars because 2 waitress's visited their table and then the manager on duty (short white lady) well the manager that was there was talking to them and the customers were blabbing about it being pancake day. Yay! The manager said no pancakes there but she could make some shots that taste like pancakes. They ordered 6 shots she went and made them came back with 7! The extra one being her's. Yeah she had a shot! Like really lady your in charge that restaurant how many more have you had the same day? My husband had fought for her attention she still ignored him. He asked her what was in the shot she turned her head. He asked how much it cost once again ignored. Is this a family owned or a corporate restaurant? I must say their mozzarella sticks/half moons are disgusting and over cooked. They taste to be the frozen kind and cooked far too long. We got our order and there was no cheese in them maybe a tiny bit in the center. Ribs were delicious.

I have been here a couple of times during the work week with a couple of co-workers for different occasions and have enjoyed their crab cake every time I have had it. The crab cake platter comes with two vegetables. The crab cake is all crab meat and is a 7oz. cake that is full of crab flavor. Even though there are tons of places serving crab cakes in Maryland, I find that this restaurant makes one of the best. I usually get a salad and the vegetable of the day. During the week, this place has a special where you get the crab cake with a salad, a choice of soup and a one side item. The Maryland crab soup is great. It is a tomato based soup and is full of vegetables and crab. The soup is definitely one of the best I have ever had. I hear the cream of crab is awesome too but I have yet to try it since I am not that big into cream soups. This place has a bar with a lot of flat screen televisions with a good amount of menu items. For those who want the bar fare, they offer items such as wings and fries. I saw an order of wings being served at the table next to me and they looked meaty and flavorful due to the amount of buffalo sauce I could see them covered with. If you are in the area and want to try something different and new try this place out. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Since moving to Baltimore, we've been on a search for the best crab cakes in the area. For a long time, G&M held this position, but no longer! We brought our brother-in-law and niece here for dinner last month, and were very pleasantly surprised. The decor, especially in the dining room (where we had to sit with a 7yr old, otherwise we would have been at the bar) was non-existant. The place needs a serious revamp, but it was clean. The staff was pleasant and our waitress was very attentive to our youngest diner. Three of us had the crab cakes, and they were incredible. Just enough binder to hold the huge chunks of meat together; well seasoned and cooked perfectly--moist and absolutely delectable. The fries were awesome, as were the mashed potatoes and the veggie side dish. The crab cake sandwich was 14.00 bucks, and the platter with a single cake was 15.00. Certainly an agreeable price for a stellar crab cake. The rest of the menu was pretty standard sports bar food (burgers etc.) but really, the only thing I'll be ordering here are the crab cakes, and I'll be ordering them often!

I have eaten here two time and both times I felt ripped off. The buildings interior is very dated and the menu is lost in the 80's also. Very bland food.

I was in the area for just the evening, and this place looked decent. The place doesn't look as cozy inside as I would have expected looking at it from the parking lot. The food was alright I had a chicken cheesesteak and the menu is pretty diverse. The service was good. Our waiter checked on us often and got all our orders right. If I were in the area again I'd probably check out the other places around.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for some time and finally did last night. what a huge disappointment. I almost turned and left when I walked in because of the dated and just plan OLD look to the restaurant., although they've only been open a few years. Unfortunately, it was late and the kids were hungry. My boyfriend got a burger and I got the crab cake. The crab cake was decent, but not worth the price. I'd much rather go to other places with more flavorful crab cakes at the same price or cheaper. I got mash potatoes as a side and it was by far the worst mash potatoes I've had in my life. They were cold, dry and tasteless. I can get better mash potatoes at Golden Corral or any fast food place (or out of a box for that matter). The soda's were terrible. Someone needs to train these people on the proper way to set up the soda machines (after reading reviews here I see I'm not the only one who had this problem). The best thing I have to say about this place was that the service was good. I was annoyed that a party of 6 was automatically charged tip but it's fine. Most places don't start auto-calculating tip unless it's 8 - 10 people. I was significantly annoyed when I got my bill at it was 50 dollars for 2 kids and 1 adult's meal. I will never return to Pappas. I should have gone with my instinct and left when I saw how shabby the interior was. The food was a direct representation of the decor.

Overall the food here is great. Their cream of crab and Maryland crab is delicious. I have had the cheesesteak (which I needed to ask for tomato and lettuce despite the menu saying it was served with) the crab pretzel is scrumptious, the Ruben sandwich is amazing. So this place is great during dinner time. During lunch time it sucks. I will NEVER go back for lunch. The waitress we had was in the clouds half the time. Asked her for something and she never did bring it back.

  • Bob M.

Gave pappas a second chance. Kinda wish I didn't. Over half hour wait for food with only 2 other tables in the place. Food arrived order was wrong. When right food came was not worth the wait. Wasn't enough salt and pepper on the table to help.

Decent service, but this place is falling apart. Duck tape on the seats, and odd smells. I would pass on this place. Food ordered Jalepeno Poppers- frozen poppers, not good at all. Served with marinara sauce, which makes no sense Black and bleu burger- it was cooked great, and was a decent burger. The sweet potato fries weren't very good, and you can tell they are of the frozen fair.

I went to pappas on Sat night 1/8/10. A friend of mine thought we should try it out. We both were first timers but she heard it was good. Glad we did. We had the Seafood club, which is shrimp salad and a lump crab cake. Oh my goodness. So good. We also had the Cheseapeake wings as an appetizer. Those were good too. You would never think to do that to wings. Anyway we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The crab cake was a very nice size. We wer so stuffed. I will definitely be back. MMMM!!

This restaurant took the place of the Bennigans that used to be here, and trust me, this place is a step up. Run by the same people that opened the original Pappas up in Parkville, this place is definitely a bit more relaxed, a bit more Glen Burnie, if you catch my drift. As a born and raised, GB'er, I know that we don't all park our RVs on our front lawn. Some of us don't even have a porn mustache from the 1970s. But we all do love simple food. That is the kind of food that you will find at Pappas. From yummy crab dip, to juicy flavorful steaks and everything in between, this place isn't reinventing the wheel, but they are doing it well and reasonably priced. My personal favorite is the Reuben, which is piled high with corned beef and with just the right amount of kraut. If you are looking for a place to watch the Ravens on Sunday, this place is always hopping. So it can get a bit loud, even out in the dining area away from the bar. Check it out, I think you will enjoy. Especially if you were born in the Burnie.

We were heading out one evening in October 2010 and decided to stop at Bennigan's...only to discover it was replaced with this place so we thought...why not? We had the fried zucchini and stuffed portabello appetizer and both were EXCELLENT. I had the portabello as my meal...it was that filling and that good. My husband ordered a steak and declared it one of the best he'd ever had and we love steakhouses. Recently we visited again during a weekend in February 2011 with the kids this time...and once again we were not disappointed. They had a Rockfish special that night which I very much enjoyed. My husband had the Cowboy Ribeye and once again delcared it perfection. Kids had meals that they all enjoyed as well. We will be back!

Went there this evening with my Son. He swears by the Rib-Eye and I had the Crab Cake Platter. Not much on Crunchy Carrots and Zuchini,Salad had 1 halfed cherry tomato, but Crab Cake may have been the best I ever had. What really soured the whole dining experience was when the waiter loudly announced that my Credit Card was declined after he ran it twice. Funny, it worked fine at the ATM so that I could pay the bill and that only cost 2.50!!! I won't be rushing back.

Crab dip was average, would not order again, the pita chips were greasy......service was good...very clean...fish and veggies cooked to perfection...salad very fresh....refills on drinks kept coming....peanut butter pie was great however a little too much chocolate sauce....we will be back

Pappa's is our new 'go to' restaurant. The food is consistent and very tasty. I love their wedge salad. Their crab cakes are IMHO one of the best in the area. I think they rival G & M's crab cakes. Everything we have had has been very good (except the mashed potatoes).

Terrible service!! We sat at our table for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. Had heard great things about the food but left due to poor customer service in the bar area!

  • Heather P.

About Papa Murphy

Papa Murphy is one of the top pizza chains in the United States. Papa Murphy was formed after the merger of two popular local pizzerias namely Papa Aldo's and Murphy's respectively. The trend of "take and bake" pizzerias gained popularity in the United States during the early 90s. The growing popularity these two take and bake pizzerias located in Hillsboro, Oregon and Petaluma, California respectively gave the idea of a possible merger to Terry Collins.

In 1995, Terry Collins consolidated the merger and founded Papa Murphy and expanded the pizza chain across 1300 outlets in the United States and Canada. Customers can relish Papa Murphy pizzas by simply walking into the nearby Papa Murphy outlet or simply order online or call-in to pick up the order later.
